And setteth me upon my high places." 2 Samuel 22:34 The Norwich Parkour community gatherd together on saturday the 7th of march to gather together money for Comic Relief by doing Parkour in fancy dress or just normal clothes! The event was held in Norwich at the Haymarket Thomas more memorial area (other side of Primark, and beside McDonalds) and in total raised a whole £186.51!!! so thank you Josh Hyland for organising the day, and thank you to all the people who turned up and helped gather the money. NRPK Parkour Alliance Parkour Alliance is a Teaching organisation for in and around norfolk. Any enquiries for teaching in norwich, please refer to this webpage, www.ParkourAlliance.com or contact them on NRPKadmin(at)gmail.com What is Parkour? Le Parkour is an Art founded by David Belle and all it involves is a little and effort and guidance preferably. The idea is instead of going AROUND a fence, why not go over it? Or if it’s a railing, why not go over, or through, or even under and then pick yourself up off the floor? Ok so the floor thing doesn’t sound too interesting but it’s all true. There is no reason as to why you shouldn't go over things, it’s just that until now, no one really thought about it as it's too much like hard work. Are there any Rules to Parkour? There isn’t much of a difference but there have been many arguments about it, I hope this helps... Parkour is a way of moving from A to B fast and as fluidly as possible, where as Freerunning as we know it is just the same but there is more tricking involved, such as flips, spins twists, etc etc. You wouldn’t find these in Parkour as they are not very efficient. Also in Freerunning you don’t have to just go from a to b, you can do as many things as you can possibly think of on just one obstacle. I hope this helped, Andeh :x Norwich Community The Norwich community is getting quite large now; we have a few gatherings, a few jams and a few groups have formed in the area.
