London Gathering - 2008! London Events Facebook <-- facebook link for those that have face book, please add yourselves if you can! basically! On the 16th to 17th of February we are trying to organise a big meet for parkour in London. the idea for the weekend is to get as many traceurs as possible in London to help teach and greet! on the Saturday there will be a plan to meet at around mid day in London, location will be the London eye Grass area, and it will probably be around 3pm. The plan for Saturday is to have simple training, get to know each other and help people, then Sunday the plan is for the full on training and more teaching! those that would not be able to make the Saturday or stay over night would be able to come on Sunday and join in then instead, and hopefully people wont have killed themselves too much from the Saturday. Hotels and things will be looked into and will have details posted, though if you could sort your own hotels out it would be much appreciated, but we will help find a list of them for people to book. so far we have found rooms that are about £110 for 8 people (£13each roughly) and the max you will be spending on the night stay would be around £25 for 4 of you in a room, but i very much doubt that would be the case! unfortunately we are still in the early stages of organisation, but more information will come as we work it out! For those that wish to join us coming from norwich, we now have a concent form for people fill out and hand to us with money included. This means that all you need to do is provide money and we will sort the travel and accommodation! you can get the form from us here.(file is a PDF, must have acrobat to view it) Hope to see you all there! LONDON 2008! Reply to NRPK - summer jam! i dont normally do this... but! being as today was so amazing ive decided to do a write up. The day started well with about 4 of us there, we first met up in the moat, though ide been there about half an hour before hand to warm up. my friend John came to this jam and took some photos, and some of them are really nice! then eventually loads of people started just turning up, we ended up with about 25 people roughly which in a small area like Norwich is REALLY big! so we took a group photo and there were some good reactions all round and every one was happy with every one. After hanging around in the meeting place we decided to go up to the castle gardens and do some training up there (some people did tricking, but there was a big bit of grass.. it seems obvious) more photo's were taken, then dave the foolish person ran away from the castle mall security guards and we all got kicked off, cheers dave... This seems kinda bad but it was all made up for by the face when we went back down the stairs to the castle moat sean was brave enough to go up to a random person with a TV crew and ask if she was Dame Kelly Holmes... turns out she was!!! so we ended up doing parkour and tricking in front of a TV camera with Dame Kelly Holmes... this was an awesome turnout if i ever heard, then i myself asked quite nicely if i could jump OVER Dame Kelly Holmes from the wall by the castle onto some blocks not that far away... she said yes while quite quickly getting more and more scared by the idea of it! though i did it, and if you look at the photo of me doing it, you can clear see Dame Kelly Holmes was scared witless, though not many people can claim they jumped over Dame kelly holmes! after meeting here we left and as we were all dehydrated from the camera guy telling us to run around like maniacs we decided to go to tesco and hydrate with not alot of water and lots of pasta by the looks of things! when finishing at tesco me sean and lukman split the whole lot up into two groups, so sean and i took one set of people and lukman took the rest! our group went off to ten bells first where me and sean seemed to have lots and lots of adrenaline and just go for everything we could, that day we did loads and loads and loads maybe even LOADS of stuff we had never done before, today was a good day! lots of people liked tenbells because there is alot of stuff for beginners, yet there's more for the more experienced, so there was something for every one. After a while the groups swapped over and we went to blue rails, while and they went to tenbells. me and sean yet again did loads of things we'd never done before, hence why most of the pictures are of us two! pictures by this point were being taken on a different camera because the battery had died on the other one, must be a good sign! after blue rails and every one trying something we moved onto the law courts and sat down by some rails, with a few people doing rail precisions (there about 1 foot off the ground... if that) it was a nice time to sit. Lukman gave me a ring after we'd been sitting for a while and we all moved on and met up as a big group again by john lewis car park, then we went and played the "don't touch the ground" game... we played it last jam, but this time was a lot harder because the bush's had grown and there were a lot of spiky ones! :( but in the end we all made it, some touching the floor about 20 times some not at all... unfortunately i touched the floor 3 times, but hey... thats life!. After that we all went and played around jumping on shed roofs in a court yard doing some gaps, it was quite fun, and yet again, something i had never done before! then i had to go to work unfortunately, though apparently they carried on and went to timber hill. Hope all that came to the jam enjoyed it... and will keep doing parkour as well!!! Andeh :x NRPK - summer jam! on thursday the 27th of july were hoping to get a big meet up for people to do parkour in norwich, we will be meeting at about 11 to 12 at the castle moat area, there is a map here for people to find out where it is... it is quite obvious though, there is only one castle in norwich, and a moat is around the castle... you know the rest! hope to see people there!! Andeh :X NRPK - REALLY small easter holidays jam 12th April 2006 during easter holidays - 11am till when you feel like going... not a very big jam, organised with no due care, not expecting a big turn out, though if you hear about it! do try turn up :) weather is planned to be good... hope to see you there... Andeh :x NRPK parkour event3 16th of february 2006, during the half term - 11am finishing at a time that you feel like, hopefully nice weather, again, though being as its february, cant get your hopes up to much, though keep your fingers crossed! from the response so far, were going to have a reasonable turnout, no one famous, yet! though you guys better turn up!! we will be meeting in Norwich outside the Castle in the moat area, there will more than likely be people warming up and doing parkour from about 10am if you feel like getting there early. a good warmup is the best warmup. bring friends, and money for drink and food etc etc just have fun! and keep training Andeh :x NORWICH parkour, evening news photo shoot - 11AM don't know when it finishes but were all going too try meet up at the castle moat too have a photo shoot and maybe some interviews for the evening news local news paper, man i get cooler every second of the day...!!! NORWICH Parkour event2 - 3rd of April - 11AM through to 6, meeting same place as normal, but this time it will have a plan etc etc hoping for a big turn out and nice weather like the last jam, for the new comers to the events or parkour meetings then there is a map here to find timberhill. Bring as many friends as you like, if we get lots of people we should be able to have a lot of teaching and learning going on, also this time it will be a little MORE organised and hopefully we wont have a police escort, though it was quite a fun thing too have. hope to see you all there and many more people. Norwich Parkour Site Team, have fun!
